Our life is confusing. In order to orientate ourselves, we have to put it in order; integrating people, things, and events into stories and assign them a place in our lives. Some things are particularly close to us. When we associate our lives with theirs, we try to give lasting expression to their meaning. We inscribe ourselves in their history and they in ours. Numerous similar inscriptions appear on the objects of Museum Faesch throughout time. These inscriptions tell us stories about the use, significance, and changing meaning of things.
